November 10th. 2002

A miserable wet day did nothing to dampen the spirits of 21 Bedford Group members attending this years Service of Remembrance in London. In total 57 ROCA members proudly resumed their rightful place in column C again, to be with the other Royal Air Forces Association contingents. Tony Whittle ably took on the role of parade marshal for the ROCA marchers, and we received several spontaneous bursts of applause from the public as we marched by.

It was rather disappointing to note that, of the 109 tickets requested nationally, only 57 actually attended the Parade

Thanks to Roy McDowell, our web-master, pictures may be seen on the web site.

Our Chairman Joyce Shrubbs MBE, was attending her local Royal British Legion Parade this year, but still managed to get down to London in time to join the Bedford members for their traditional Group lunch in the Victory Services Club afterwards.

All the usual news, letters and pictures from around the Group, plus any National news as it comes in. Ron Swain has written a follow up to his article “A flight to be forgotten” (published in the last issue) which describes that Air Race in more detail.

Finally I would like to take the opportunity to send my own Christmas Greetings to all BEDROC readers. See you in the NewYear.
