On May 8th Truro held a Service and Celebration at the Hendra Playing Fields to mark the ending of WWII
. Photo 1 above shows Truro Branch Standard Bearer with the 10 Group Standard outside the adjoining St Georges Church where the service was held.
Photo 2 shows the Standard being held in front of the display put together by the Truro Branch ROCA on 'The ROC in WWII in Cornwall'. This was set up in a marquee with a post instrument, head set and post telephone. The display attracted much interest including that from the Mayor of Truro and from quite few former wartime ROC members who had served in the Ops Room in Truro or on the posts. One late seventyish grey haired charming lady took great delight in seeing herself in uniform as a very young girl !!
