OPEN DAY JUNE 6TH 2004

From the managing trustees.

Sunday 6th June 2004 is the 60th anniversary of D-Day. Newhaven Fort are hosts to an event to celebrate this occasion organised by the Royal British Legion. As many of you will be aware this is also the first Sunday in June when the managing trustees of the Historic Collection have the annual ROC open day. It is the intention therefore to change the format this year as the fort has asked us to combine our open day and be part of this event.

The usual format for the day will change in as much that there will be no formal meeting, and the usual temporary exhibition will not take place. In its place we are putting on an exhibition of solely Seaborne, archive material in the World War II hall and a temporary wall mounted exhibition in one of the other halls. Both these will then remain on show for the remainder of the season.

Due to the large number of visitors expected it will not be possible for ex ROC and ROCA members to gain free price entry unless they pre-register their intention to attend. If you wish to attend on the day will you please fill out the application form below, in return you will receive an entry badge which must be worn on arrival to gain admission.

We are hoping that some Seaborne members will be present on the day together with senior members of the ROC Association.

A programme of events has yet to be published.

Remember no entry badge no free price entry. Full admission prices will apply.

Closing date for applications is 31st May 2004
