RAF Tangmere planned for demolition ...(again).

It is now at imminent risk of demolition by private developers. Plans to develop the surviving area have just been submitted to the local Council.

It is still partially surviving and I am trying to get people to write in, voice their objections, and save it.

As you may know it was home to Douglas Bader and several other distinct individuals including Australian Air ace Tony Gaze, New Zealand ace James Norby King (known as the green kiwi) & Sir Neville Duke who broke the Air speed record at Tangmere in the Hawker Hunter. There is more info at  www.spitfireboy.com  Posted are some images of the proposed demolition.

We need to remember the debt of gratitude we owe and preserve such a important piece of history for the youth of today.

Thank you for your time, I hope you will voice your opinion to the relevant councils.

Sincerely,
James Peter Liskutin
(grandson of Squadron Leader M.A.'Tony' Liskutin AFC DFC RAF 312)

NB:
TANGMERE MUSEUM COULD BE GREATLY IMPROVED BY THE RELEASE OF THESE BUILDINGS TO THE  MUSEUM IN THE NAME OF EDUCATION AND HERITAGE PRESERVATION.

THIS COULD BE A VALUABLE AND YET FRAGILE MOMENT FOR TANGMERE TO SHOW IT'S VALUE IN BRITAIN'S HISTORY.

Thanks for your attention,
James Liskutin
